The Sheepdogs #Ottawa @CityFolkFest
Yesterday was my last visit to Ottawa CityFolk Festival to see The Sheepdogs. I’ve seen them twice before and knew it was going to be a great show and I was not disappointed. Despite the rain that lasted throughout the set and despite the fact that they were getting soaked from it blowing on to the stage, they put on another great, straight forward, old fashioned, rock n roll show. From what I heard yesterday, their new album is going to be a must buy for me, so I’m looking forward to the release.
I won’t be attending CityFolk today as I need to recover and most of the acts are aimed at a different audience and that’s OK. Between Van Morrison, Amy Helm, UB40, The Tubes and The Sheepdogs, the cost of the pass was well worth it. If they continue bringing in a good mix of acts like they have the past few years, I will continue to buy passes no matter which venue they choose to use as their home base.
Next event for me will likely be the one of the Monkeyjunk CD release shows at The Rainbow on Oct 2 & 3. Should be a fantastic show and I’m sure there will be a large, lively crowed there for both performances.
