Bluesfest Picks – #Ottawa #RBCBluesfest

As expected, Ottawa Bluesfest has a wide variety of acts again this year.  There are far too many for me to mention, so I’m going to focus on the ones that I’m excited to see (mainly Blues and Classic Rock).

July 3 is the day I’ve been anticipating the most.  Shane Dwight is making a return appearance and the lineup only gets better after that with Beth Hart and Gary Clark Jr. It should be a night to remember!

July 5 is another great day with Matt Anderson and the Mellotones followed by JJ Grey & Mofro and the nights closer will be Vintage Trouble (that’s right, I’m going to skip the Lady Gaga show that night).

July 8 will feature Styx, Don Felder and Foreigner headlining the main stage.

July 10 will be Procol Harum & the NAC Orchestra followed by Blondie.  For the closing act of the day I’ll be at the Black Sheep stage to see John Mayall.

July 12 I’ll be seeing Sugar Ray & The Bluetones, Little Freddie King, Thornetta Davis & Dr Hook featuring Ray Sawyer.

To close the festival out on July 13 I’ll be dancing to the Sam Roberts Band finish the day watching Collective Soul.

If all goes according to plan, I should see around 30 different acts over 8 days… not a bad way to end my summer vacation!
